Sandwell MBC’s Education Vision sets out two key plans in bringing about a step-change in attitude towards aspiration and learning within the Borough:

Firstly - to create an environment for secondary education and lifelong learning, fit for the 21st century, relevant to the needs of its citizens and capable of giving them the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

Secondly - to reconfigure Sandwell’s services and buildings to be inclusive, dynamic and relevant to the lives of all of our citizens in support of the socio-economic regeneration of the
neighbourhoods and community well-being.

Sandwell MBC is using BSF to develop partnership and multi-disciplinary working to ensure that every school in Sandwell is firmly embedded at the heart of their community.

The Facilities

Sandwell Futures is:

Embracing the Council’s vision.
Focusing the design solutions at each school to enhance the facilities, particularly with respect of the specialist status that each enjoys.
Providing identified entrances to the facilities being made available to the community.

The Future

Later in 2010, Sandwell Futures will be establishing a Community Liaison Manager who will:

Be the focal contact point for organisations, individuals, clubs, and event organisers.
Liaise with all of the schools across the Borough to arrange for the most appropriate facilities to be made available.

Sandwell Futures will therefore be playing its part in realising Sandwell MBC’s vision for the buildings to be inclusive, dynamic and relevant to the lives of all, with the facilities being used to the full as centres for the community.
